Where to find the right support

A Subject Coordinator is responsible for the subject design, delivery and administration of a subject/s. For each of your subjects, you will have a designated Subject Coordinator. 

Your Subject Coordinator is your first point of contact for any questions you may have about your subject and can provide advice/clarification on:

  • Assessment tasks/exams
  • Subject content
  • Subject materials/resources
  • Feedback and assessment results

Academic Program Directors are academic staff members who provide strategic leadership and manage coursework programs. Academic Program Directors can assist students with matters relating to course planning and subject selection.  

Honours Coordinators support students throughout their honours year. They will:

  • Oversee the Honours program progression
  • Manage assessments/examination
  • Provide general academic guidance
  • Review academic consideration 

A Head of Students, also referred to as a 'HoSt', is an academic member of staff who is able to provide you with advice and information relating to your degree. A HoSt is responsible for:

  • Reviewing and monitoring 
  • Supporting students who do not meet 
  • Mediating differences between students and academic units
  • Providing advice on 

A HoSt can also provide you with course and subject advice as well as assess applications for:

  • Advanced standing/
  •  study
  • Taking a 
  •  in a teaching period
