A Discovery Degree gives you the flexibility to shape your studies around your interests, strengths and future goals. With flexible study options and the opportunity to explore different disciplines, you can create a qualification that reflects who you are and where you want to go. 

You'll build a strong foundation in your chosen field while tailoring your studies to suit your ambitions. Use your flexible subjects to deepen your knowledge through a  or broaden your perspective with  and  from across the university. 

Combine areas that interest you, such as Business and Creative Arts, Science and International Studies, or Criminology and Communications, and graduate with a unique mix of skills and knowledge that prepares you for a range of career opportunities.

Every 3-year Bachelor degree is made up of 24 subjects - 8 core, 8 major and 8 flex - each block worth 48 credit points, for a total of 144.

A discovery degree gives you the flexibility to personalise your studies while still graduating in three years. With flexible subjects, you can: 

  • Choose a second major, minor or electives that align with your interests and career goals. 
  • Explore new areas of study or deepen your expertise in your chosen field. 
  • Build a broad, cross-disciplinary skill set that helps you stand out to employers. 
  • Create a study experience that reflects your goals and aspirations. 

Core foundations 
You’ll complete a set of core subjects that build essential knowledge, skills, and capability in your chosen field. You’ll complete a capstone project in your final year where you’ll apply your learning to real-world challenges, helping you graduate career ready.  

Your major 
Choose a major within to your degree and develop deep specialist expertise in the area that interests you most. 

Flexible subjects 
Flexible subjects allow you to tailor your degree to suit your interests and goals. You can choose to: 

  • Complete a second major (including selected majors from other disciplines through â€¯). 
  • °ä´Ç³¾±è±ô±ð³Ù±ð t·É´Ç&²Ô²ú²õ±è;. 
  • Choose a mix of  from across the university.

Whether you choose a second major, minors or electives, you'll be able to explore your interests and personalise your studies while remaining on track to graduate within three years. 

A discovery degree is a single qualification that gives you the flexibility to customise your studies through majors, minors and electives.  

It allows you to explore different areas of interest while completing your degree in three years. 

A double degree combines two qualifications in a structured program. While there is less flexibility in your study plan, you graduate with two degrees and gain in-depth knowledge across two disciplines. Most double degrees can be completed in four years. 

This structure is ideal if you want flexibility and choice. A double degree is better suited to students who have a clear career direction and want to specialise in two fields. 

Double degrees are still available if you want to study two disciplines in depth. 

These programs follow a more structured study plan, with core subjects and approved majors in each discipline. While some elective choice is available, much of the pathway is predetermined to ensure you meet the requirements of both qualifications. 

If you're looking for a more focused study experience and want to graduate with two qualifications, a double degree may be the right choice. Many double degrees can be completed in four years.
