3. Graduate Research Committee HDR Student Representatives
There are representative vacancies on the Graduate Research Committee (GRC) for one domestic and one international HDR candidate.
The GRC plays a key role in shaping and enhancing the University’s HDR environment. In line with its Terms of Reference (TOR), the Committee provides oversight of policies, procedures, and quality assurance relating to HDR programs, candidates, and supervision. It also advises on strategic and operational initiatives that strengthen research training, supports compliance with national standards, and responds to feedback from the HDR community to improve the overall research experience.
Membership is open to any currently enrolled HDR candidates, preferably in their second year or beyond.
As a member, you will contribute a candidate perspective to discussions on matters such as research training quality, supervision practices, scholarship allocation, candidate experience, and continuous improvement across the HDR lifecycle. This includes helping ensure that the needs and experiences of diverse cohorts, such as international candidates and underrepresented groups are considered in decision-making.
The GRC is an advisory committee to the University Research Committee and is chaired by the Dean of Graduate Research and Research Culture. Scheduled meeting dates for 2026 are:
- Thursday 23 April
- Thursday 18 June
- Thursday 20 August
- Thursday 15 October
